About The Band
facebook
Bluesy, funky, soulful, rocking, colourful, fun, relaxed and intense are strokes which only begin to sketch the joyously uncategorisable sound of Broadfoot, the popular Far North Coast band with members drawn from Mullumbimby, Byron Bay, and Alstonville.  Ever attuned to the vibe of their diverse audiences, Broadfoot unleash the twin genies of dance and delight across the NSW North Coast and beyond with a heady and ever evolving mix of original material.

John Moodie is a guitarist of astonishing instinctual talent and writes songs in a unique style. A brilliant exponent of the electric guitar solo, John is known to play his guitar with his teeth and behind his back when the mood takes him.

Trent "Broadfoot" Morgan (it is his middle name) plays a variety of makes of drums - usually 60's classics with amazing finishes - and at times simultaneously plays harmonica. Trent writes much of Broadfoot's material and has a passion for a large assortment of musical styles, really enjoying the musical spectrum that Broadfoot encompasses.

Fixture of the Byron Shire music and art scene Russell Kereama plays bass with Broadfoot. He is lover of many music styles and is renowned for his friendly disposition and abundant curly locks!

Lead vocals are shared between Trent and John, and their warm harmonies are a distinguishing feature of Broadfoot’s live sound. When a PA is required Broadfoot use a superb sounding professional JBL PA system.

Past band members include Darren Knight and Cliff Fletcher on bass, Matt Cleary on guitar and Graeme Quirk on keyboards/guitar.

There is something for everyone at a Broadfoot gig so come along and catch the next one as the band continues to go from strength to strength, buoyed by their intrinsic love of bringing great live music to every listening ear and underpinned by superb musicianship, intense musical interplay and a crystal spring of stand-out original songs.

category - following on from the Best Funk/Urban/Hiphop Song going to Broadfoot's original recording 'The Timeless Groove' in 2010.  The band were also honoured to receive a finalist nomination in the Best Emerging Talent category that year.

How better to demonstrate the multi-faceted depth of songwriting talent within the band and the impossibility of neatly categorising Broadfoot's original music?
